With 195 authorized patents and 359 registered trademarks, Gansu Constar Technology Group Co., Ltd. has built strong innovation capabilities and large-scale manufacturing strength. The company now produces 800 million contact lenses, 100 million bottles of lens care solution, and 30 million bottles of eye wash annually, accounting for one out of every five pairs of contact lenses manufactured in China.

Founded nearly 20 years ago in Baiyin, Gansu Province, Gansu Constar has grown into a technology-driven group integrating the research, development, manufacturing, sales, and service of contact lenses and ophthalmic care products.

“Our corneal reshaping lens ‘three-piece solution’ has been independently designed and developed since 2022. The hydrogen peroxide care solution was approved for market launch at the end of last year, and the remaining two products will be introduced this year,” said Tang Yuxi, General Manager of Gansu Constar Technology Group.

“Continuous innovation is the foundation of long-term competitiveness,” Tang emphasized. The launch of the corneal reshaping lens system reflects Constar’s sustained focus on product development and technological advancement.

During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, Gansu Constar invested RMB 136 million in R&D, established eight specialized R&D platforms, and achieved breakthroughs in key technologies such as astigmatism correction and silicone hydrogel materials. Among its notable achievements, the Full-Mold Compression Production Line for Colored Contact Lenses received the Gansu Provincial Patent Award; the Soft Hydrophilic Contact Lens (MC55) earned “Long Brand” certification; and the Astigmatism-Correcting Contact Lens won a Bronze Award at the 5th Gansu “Innovation Cup” Industrial Design Competition.

Centered on ophthalmic corrective and protective devices, Gansu Constar continues to strengthen its integrated industrial chain. Through ongoing expansion, the company has achieved independent modification of polymer resin materials, as well as in-house design and production of molds and lens packaging components. Today, Constar operates a fully integrated value chain spanning R&D, materials, manufacturing, and packaging.

Its product portfolio includes clear contact lenses, colored contact lenses, lens care solutions, and eye wash products, offering correction solutions for myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism, and meeting the diverse needs of global consumers.

In parallel with product innovation, Gansu Constar is accelerating the intelligent upgrading of its manufacturing facilities. At its modern contact lens production base, fully automated production lines equipped with AI-based inspection systems and full lifecycle traceability management have significantly enhanced quality control and efficiency, reducing overall production cycles by 30%.

Supported by technological independence and scalable production capacity, Gansu Constar has obtained 47 product market approvals across 18 countries and regions, with products exported to the European Union and Southeast Asia.

Looking ahead, Gansu Constar will continue to advance digital factory construction, optimize production and quality management systems, expand R&D in myopia prevention and vision correction, and develop a broader range of eye health solutions. Leveraging Southeast Asia as a strategic gateway, the company aims to accelerate global expansion and strengthen the international presence of its proprietary brands.
